Billiard Room Access to the splendid billiard room is provided by a grand total of five doors, two of which lead from the balcony situated at the front of the house. A cast iron bridge from the rear garden leads to another. The final two doors are internal and connect with the hallway and the Arabic room. |

As in the Music Room there is a vaulted apex ceiling 20ft high.The room measures 30ft x 24ft. An 8ft wide, hand carved mahogany angel overlooks the newly felted full size snooker table illuminated by a set of 19th century oil lamps (converted to electric). A framed and glazed notice board houses a wide selection of photographs which follow the development of Moongate from its humble beginnings to its present grandeur. A blazing fire can be lit in the 19th century hand carved Indian rosewood fireplace complete with a bevel edged mirror panel and an original cast iron grate and fire back. This is complemented by 19th century fire dogs and fender. |
