Borris pubs often host traditional music at weekends. It is easy to forget that Moongate is a mere 20 mile drive away from the medieval city of Kilkenny and is within an easy drive from Counties Waterford, Wexford and Tipperary - each with their own charms and attractions. If you are taking it easy, there are romantic and sedate country walks to be enjoyed just moments from the door. From Kilkenny Direction: If coming from Kilkenny direction on the N9, go through Paulstown and turn right (approx. 2 minutes/2 miles along the N9) for Bagenalstown. From Bagenalstown: Go straight into the town, after petrol station on the right, turn right at the cross roads (signposted Borris) continue straight for 1/4 mile taking your first left, signposted Corries Cross. From here you should follow the course of the road for 7.8 miles (Remember check the odometer) around 7.8 miles start looking for a left turn signed to Mount Leinster/Ninestones/TV mast. (This road is narrow and climbs towards to top of Mount Leinster. You should be able to see the TV transmitter as you climb). |
